Force compensated laparoscopic instrument; Soft touch balanced instruments for safe laparoscopic surgery

We propose a new line of laparoscopic Compliant instruments, with our first product being a grasper for delicate tissue manipulation. This product delivers enhanced force sensation with a technical simplicity that is easily scaled-down without loss of performance and has a force locking mechanism that prevents that high actuation force is transmitted to the weak tissue and prevents tissue damage. In our new design, the conventional hinged tool tip that all graspers have is replaced by our compliant Blue tempered/NitiNol tool tip. An additional balancer and monolithic component locking mechanism results in a compliant grasper (second product) that (1) has enhanced force sensation with minimum actuation force and (2) restricts and creates the presence of dangerous tissue forces. Therefore, this product hits multiple market trends at once: It’s cheaper, safer, can be smaller-in-size, and includes better haptics.
