Ultra-narrowband lasers on a chip

This project pursues the large potential of diode lasers with highest spectral purity in a chip-sized format.
Industrial partners participate along the value chain reaching from modeling, design and fabrication of chips,
via integration and packaging into components, devices and systems, towards equipment for users in sensing
and metrologic applications. Ultra-high spectral quality is achieved via hybrid integration of semiconductor
optical amplifiers with low-loss highly frequency selective integrated optical circuits on a chip, in an approach
that can be extend from the infrared (telecom) range into the visible range.
