Bio-inspired reversibly crosslinked materials

Samenvatting

Reversibly crosslinked materials (RCMs) are polymer networks, held together by links that can bind and unbind reversibly. Recent advances have shown a remarkable increase in desired material properties such as strength, toughness, and adaptability in novel polymeric materials containing a combination of permanent and reversible links. The physical mechanisms of these improvements, particularly the toughening, are not at all understood. We are applying for a continuation of a successful first year of using Cartesius for computer simulations of these phenomena.
