The role of teaching and learning in the development of at-risk students in a multilingual context

Samenvatting

In this PhD project special attention will be given to teacher and student variables relevant for literacy development of at-risk students. We will focus on the role of teaching and learning for the development of literacy, using a multi-perspective view. The nature and use of literacy tasks in the curriculum, as well as other factors (school-initated measures to support parents? involvement into their children?s literacy development) that can influence students? literacy will be studied in an explorative way.
