Teachers as designers of ICT-rich learning environments for early literacy development: Impact on implementation and learning effects

Samenvatting

The premise of this study is that teachers need to actively participate in the design of powerful (ICT-rich) learning environments for early literacy development to warrant proper implementation and acceptance of the innovation. The impact of active involvement of two kinds of teachers, language coordinators and classroom teachers, are investigated. The impact of active involvement in the design of (ICT-rich) learning environments for fostering early literacy in young children is evaluated against quality and implementation of the design, as well as against the outcomes the design yields on student learning.
