Elevating motivation, self-regulation, and achievement of students in (pre-)vocational education by means of self-regulatory strategy development and behavioural consultation

Samenvatting

In this study, motivation, self-regulation, and achievement of (pre-)vocational students is to be elevated by means of a combination of a self-regulated strategy instruction and of behavioural consultation. The target of both interventions is to foster motivation, self-regulation and academic performance (study delay and drop-out). The effect of the interventions are to be evaluated during a two years period. An adjusted version of the intervention for use by school teachers or counselors is developed and tested for the effects on student motivation, self-regulation and achievement.
