International peer review conference

29-30 June 2017

The global research assessment and peer review system is slowly stretching to its limits. Researchers everywhere are affected by this development. One of the problems is an ever increasing number of applications, resulting in turn in an increasing amount of necessary peer reviews. To address these challenges and join forces to explore alternative ways of dealing with them, NWO invites participants from European research councils and granting organisations, but also researchers and peer reviewers to registrate.

All participants will be able to attend three of the four workshops. In order to create well-balanced groups, the organisers will divide all participants into groups.

  • Workshop 1: Effectiveness of current assessment procedures: High numbers of applications
  • Workshop 2: Efficiency of current assessment procedures. The workload of applicants and reviewers, and the duration of the peer review
  • Workshop 3: Evaluating and adjusting the peer review process
  • Workshop 4: Sandpit and alternative review methods

Interesting speakers and lots of interactive moments. Catch a glimpse of the programmes:
