Announcement call for proposals follow-up programme Mosaic

Beeld Mozaïek

The follow-up programme of Mosaic will soon open for applications. This is a PhD grant programme aimed at Dutch master’s graduates with a non-western migration background.

The aim is to encourage the flow of this group into academia by funding PhD positions.

With this, the programme intends to facilitate the further development of an inclusive work environment within Dutch universities. The follow-up programme of Mosaic is part of the Impulse programme for Inclusion in Academia (IIA). The aim of the Impulse programme is to make Dutch academia more diverse and inclusive.

Application procedure

The programme has two phases; the pre-proposal and full proposal. The programme brochure (call for proposals) will be available on the NWO website by mid-March. The deadlines for submitting the pre-proposal and the full proposal will be at the beginning of June and at the end of September, respectively.

Candidates are entirely free to choose the subject of their research; every research subject can be eligible. The candidate should not submit the proposal themselves; this is to be submitted by the intended PhD supervisor.

Name change

Last summer, calls were made to submit suggestions for candidates for the sounding board group and also suggestions for a new programme name. The sounding board group has since met and has chosen a new name, which will be submitted in an advisory report to the NWO Executive Board. The new name will be announced as soon as a decision about it has been taken.
