20 researchers who have recently received their PhDs can do their research at foreign research institutes thanks to a Rubicon grant from NWO. The Rubicon programme gives young, highly promising researchers the opportunity to gain international research experience.
Industrial Doctorates: sixteen PhD students start their research in industry

NWO funds sixteen PhD students through the Industrial Doctorates programme. They will carry out their research at both a knowledge institution and a participating company. The chance that the knowledge actually finds its way into practice increases when both the company and knowledge institution work closely together. The Industrial Doctorates programme contributes to intensive collaboration and focuses strongly on talent development of the PhD student. Special attention was given to cooperation with SMEs. In seven proposals, the PhD student will execute part of the research at an SME.
154 researchers awarded a NWO Veni grant worth 250,000 euros

The Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO) has awarded a Veni grant worth up to 250,000 euros to 154 highly promising young scientists. The grant provides the laureates with the opportunity to further elaborate their own ideas during a period of three years.
