Cyber attacks of varying levels of severity realised by various parties and actors threaten society daily. Managing security risks in the cyber domain is more urgent than ever for our increasingly digitised society. The broad societal importance of the cyber security challenge requires a joint effort of science, industry and government.

At the launch of the third edition of the National Cyber Security Research Agenda, NCSRA III, on the fifth of June, NWO announced a new call for cybersecurity research proposals with a total budget of at least five million euros, and within the framework of the national Top Sector policy. We are three months later and NWO will publish the call in a few weeks: “Call for Proposals Cybersecurity – Digital Security & Privacy”. This call initiated and funded by the NWO domain Social Sciences and Humanities, the NWO domain Science and the Taskforce for Applied Research SIA, meets the need to facilitate chain-wide research collaboration in the field of cybersecurity.
