Advisory structure NWO Domain Social Sciences and Humanities: these are the chairs of the SSH advisory tables

6 February 2020

The NWO Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH) Domain Board wants to enter into a lasting collaboration with the SSH research field for the purpose of shaping NWO policy. This same wish has been expressed by researchers in the social sciences and humanities. The Domain Board is establishing SSH advisory tables to structure the discussions with the field. The chairs of these advisory tables have now been selected from a large number of interested persons from across the entire breadth of the social sciences and humanities.

The chairs

Each advisory table acts on behalf of a cluster of academic disciplines. Per table, the following co-chairs have been selected:

Table Cultural Sciences & Linguistics
Prof. Lisa Cheng (Leiden University) and Dr Sruti Bala (University of Amsterdam)

Table Economics & Business Administration
Prof. Cees van Beers (TU Delft) and Dr Inge Bleijenbergh (Radboud University)

Table Philosophy, Historical Sciences and Theology
Prof. Jeroen de Ridder (VU Amsterdam & University of Groningen) and Prof. Elise van Nederveen Meerkerk (Radboud University & Utrecht University)

Table Behaviour and Education
Prof. Ingmar Franken (Erasmus University Rotterdam) and Dr Loes Keijsers (Tilburg University)

Table Law and Public Administration
Prof. Monica Claes (Maastricht University) and Dr Henk van der Kolk (University of Twente)

Table Social Sciences
Prof. Guda van Noort (University of Amsterdam) and Dr Linnet Taylor (Tilburg University)

Aim, structure and approach SSH tables

The aim of the advisory tables is, based on the needs and wishes of the research field, to advise about policy, programming in the context of the Dutch Research Agenda, the mission-driven innovation policy and NWO procedures. Each advisory table will consist of at most eight researchers, including the co-chairs stated. The aim is that the tables and chairs form as accurate a reflection as possible of the SSH research field. The tables will meet about four times per year and in the intervening period can maintain contact by phone or email. On 17 April 2020, the first table meeting will take place with all chairs and the (still to be selected) table members.
