Amended decision regarding call for proposals 'Future directions in Dutch archaeological research'

29 April 2019

An amended decision applies to the call for proposals 'Future directions in Dutch archaeological research' published by NWO. The full modified text of the call for proposals can be found on the funding page.

The call invites consortia consisting of at least one knowledge institution, at least one recognised archaeological company, and at least one societal stakeholder to apply for funding for innovative archaeological research.

Expansion of criteria for archaeological companies

As the 'recognised archaeological companies' included in category 3 of Section 3.1 do not cover the entire scope of expertise and do not fully represent new methodical and technological developments in archaeology, it has been decided to expand this category to include: an archaeological company or archaeological service located in the Netherlands that holds an excavation certificate or is an archaeological research or advice agency.

Rescheduled deadline for pre-proposals

It has been decided to postpone the deadline for pre-proposals to 12 September 2019 at 14.00 hours CE(S)T (the original deadline was 16 May 2019) so that potential partners have sufficient opportunity to form consortia with this expanded category and to write pre-proposals.

The deadline for submitting full proposals will be postponed to 9 January 2020 at 14.00 hours CE(S)T (the original deadline was 12 September 2019).

For the entire global timetable of the procedure please see Section 4.1 of the amended call.
