Three chemical start-ups nominated for the Gouden KIEM 2018

Three chemical start-ups have been selected as finalists for the Gouden KIEM 2018. Lucoso B.V., Sponsh B.V. and Vertoro B.V. may present their plans for the Gouden KIEM jury. The winner will be announced during CHAINS on December 4th.

With the Chemical Start-up of the Year competition (Gouden KIEM), NWO and Holland Chemistry aim to put small businesses into the spotlight and reward the most outstanding of them. The prize consists of the sum of €25,000 plus publicity.

The three selected start-ups are:

Lusoco B.V.
Lusoco develops inks and components for printing artistic glass that harvests energy during the day and emits light at night for architectural and signage applications.
Jeroen ter Schiphorst, Teun Wagenaar en Michael Debije (TU/e)

Sponsh B.V.
By looking at how nature collects water in dry coastal areas, we developed a temperature sensitive textile that produces water from air. Fully off-grid, zero-energy and affordable.
Lourens Boot en Catarina Esteves (TU/e)

Vertoro B.V.
We aspire to become “The Google Android of the Bio-based Economy” by creating THE platform - being a crude oil - for others to base their applications on.
