Collaboration, connection and innovation: Implementation plan NWO Domain Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH)

14 September 2018

In April 2018, NWO published its new strategy for the period 2019 to 2022. This new strategy has now been translated to the social sciences and humanities (SSH) domain in the implementation plan ‘Collaboration, connection and innovation’.

While writing this plan, the SSH Domain Board gratefully used the ideas contributed by researchers, administrators and policy officers from knowledge institutions.

The implementation plan follows the five ambitions that underlie the new NWO strategy and it elaborates these for the social sciences and humanities. The aim is to optimally position the social sciences and humanities within the Netherlands and beyond, within the frameworks provided by the NWO strategy.

Five lines of funding

There will be five main lines of funding: the NWO Talent programme, the NWO Open Competition, the Dutch National Research Agenda, research in the context of the Knowledge and Innovation Contract (the ‘top sectors’) and the funds for large-scale infrastructure. Within these lines of funding, the SSH domain will facilitate excellent research in the social sciences and humanities and ensure this research has both a scientific and societal impact.

At the bottom of this page you can find the Implementation plan in both Dutch and English. For further information please contact NWO Domain Social Sciences and Humanities.
