Save the date! FAPESP-NWO workshop to prepare for new Bio-based Economy call

27 February 2017

On 5 and 6 April 2017, the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO) and its sister organisation FAPESP, the State Funding Agency of the Brazilian federal state of São Paulo, will be holding a workshop in preparation for the upcoming call for proposals in the context of the cooperation programme on Bio-based Economy (BBE). The workshop will take place in São Paulo, Brazil.

NWO, in consultation with FAPESP, has opted for the Bio-based Economy as the coordinating theme. The workshop will be combined with an open mid-term meeting between Dutch and Brazilian researchers working on current bilateral BBE projects. NWO is providing a budget of approximately 1.8M euros for the call. Dutch researchers can apply for a maximum of approximately 300K euros.

During the workshop, both Dutch and Brazilian representatives of the proposed themes will be given the opportunity to give short pitches/presentations to promote matchmaking.  In addition, the final content of the call’s sub-themes will be fixed and details of the submission procedure to be followed will be provided.

If you are interested, contact the secretary for this round: Dr Tim Vos (t.vos@nwo.nl, +31 70 344 0984). Please bear in mind that, if there is a great deal of interest in this event, it may only be possible to give one presentation per institution.  The workshop will take place at FAPESP in São Paulo, Brazil. NWO offers interested researchers who do not have a current bilateral project an allowance for travelling expenses.  For further details, contact Dr Tim Vos and save the date!
