Prior announcement of call for international cooperation in Biobased Economy

In mid-April, the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO) and the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) intend to open a call for bilateral cooperation in the field of Biobased Economy. NWO and FAPESP are making available a budget for a maximum of six joint research projects.

On the Dutch side, the projects have a maximum scope of approximately 280K euros for the financing of one research position, consumables, equipment, travelling expenses and exchanges. FAPESP is financing equivalent subprojects for

Thematic focus: Biobased Economy

Project proposals can be submitted for topics falling within the framework of Biobased Economy, such as the sub-themes sustainable agriculture and food production, system and synthetic biology, biobased materials, chemicals and energy, biocatalysis, biotechnology, bioprocess technology and chemical catalysis for the conversion of biomass.  

Preparatory workshop in São Paulo

On 5 and 6 April, an open workshop will be organized in São Paulo to promote matchmaking between researchers in the two countries in preparation for the call.
