International workshops and tutorials, CECAM, Lausanne

Are you interested in organizing a workshop in Computational Sciences in 2015?

24 April 2014

Proposals can be submitted for the CECAM flagship programme until 11 July 2014. The NWO-councils Physics and Chemistry jointly participate in CECAM (Centre Européen de Calcul Atomique et Moléculaire).

CECAM is interested in the development of new techniques in these fields and in the application in the material sciences and the life sciences. CECAM would welcome workshops in computational biology, network modelling, attosecond timescales, active colloids, density matrix renormalization group, multiscale modelling. The results are expected to provide directions that the field might take.

The workshops can be run in Switzerland or at any one of the eighteen research institutions (nodes) that participate in CECAM, including the Netherlands. These workshops normally last for 6 half-days and have between 20 and 50 participants, but CECAM is open to other suggestions.

CECAM also runs an extensive set of tutorials in which young researchers can learn about the simulation-driven approach to science. Up to ten tutorials can be held in Switzerland and a similar number at the nodes.
