Physics with Industry - workshop

Together with the Lorentz Center, the Dutch Research Council is hosting the 11th Physics with Industry workshop this year. During this workshop, PhD students and postdoctoral researchers work together in teams to solve real business cases. Five days, 50 physicists, and loads of formulas and cool ideas. Join one of the teams, led by an experienced senior researcher, and take up the challenge of finding the best possible solution! The workshop will be held from 16 to 20 November 2020 at the Lorentz Center@Oort, in Leiden.

For researchers

You will gain new insights into physics-related commercial problems while working on fun projects with other passionate physicists and expanding your network. You will also gain experience in a refreshing new format, working towards achieving a challenging goal together with your team.

The teams consist of physics PhD students and postdocs from research institutes across the Netherlands and Europe. A company representative and a senior researcher will be assigned to each team to ensure progress and scientific quality.

Participation is free of charge. The only thing we expect in return is your active participation in the workshop.

At the end of the week, you will receive a certificate equivalent to 48 hours of study. You may be able to exchange these hours for ECTS credits at your graduate school – please check if this is the case with your graduate school beforehand.
