On Friday 15 June 2018 about 400 journalists, press officers and researchers meet at the event Bessensap at the Rode Hoed in Amsterdam to network and exchange knowledge about recent developments in science and science communication.

We start the day with Deborah Blum. Blum is an American journalist and director of the Knight Science Journalism program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She is the author of books, including The Poisoner's Handbook (2010), and was a columnist for the New York Times and blogger for Wired.

The rest of the programme is full of research presentations about new developments. Children's book author Jan Paul Schutten gives a lecture about writing a children's book about science. In several workshops you will learn more about making movies and get tips on how to use images. Popular bloggers will talk about their experiences. Halfway through the day we announce the Spinoza and Stevin laureates of 2018 and at the end of the day we meet again to wrap up. Chair of the day is Julia Cramer.
