Research towards Sustainable Fisheries - Short Innovation Projects (RSF-SHIP)

Research towards Sustainable Fisheries-SHIP supports research that benefit the primary fisheries sector. Researchers can apply for funding for short-term research projects aiming at innovations with an application perspective in the Fisheries. RSF-SHIP is commissioned by the Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality and implemented by NWO-domain AES.

The aim of RSF-ShIP is to support research which gather new knowledge in order to develop or improve an innovative technique, process or service for the primary fisheries sector. Also research proposals that may lead to faster application of an innovation are invited to apply for funding.

Applications are expected to meet the needs of the fisheries sector and fit in one or more of the following innovation domains:

  • Reducing the footprint of fisheries
  • Selective fishing methods
  • Alternative fishing methods
