Cooperation Taiwan (MOST)
NWO has a cooperation agreement with the Ministry of Science and Technology of Taiwan (MOST; former NSC). The Cooperation Taiwan (MOST) programme is for Dutch researchers who want to cooperate with colleagues in Taiwan. It offers the opportunity of a short stay in Taiwan or a joint seminar in Taiwan or the Netherlands.
Purpose
The aim of Cooperation Taiwan (MOST) is to facilitate contacts between Dutch and Taiwanese researchers.
Who can apply
Researchers with a tenured position at one of the following knowledge institutions can submit an application: Dutch universities, KNAW institutes, NWO institutes, NKI, MPI Nijmegen, researchers from the Dubble beamline at the ESRF in Grenoble, NCB Naturalis, and the Advanced Research Centre for NanoLithography (ARCNL).
An applicant for a joint seminar must also be a senior researcher.
What to apply for
For a stay of one to twelve months in Taiwan, international travel costs and local travel and subsistence costs can be applied for. For a jointly organised seminar a contribution towards the costs can be applied for.
When to apply
You may submit at any time. There are no deadlines. The processing time is at most six months.
Applications can be submitted until the reserved budget for the programmes Visitor’s Travel Grant, Cooperation Germany - Von Humboldt Stiftung, Cooperation Japan, Cooperation Taiwan and Cooperation China travel and subsistence costs, seminars has been exhausted.

Criteria
For a stay in Taiwan:
- quality of the research teams
- scientific quality, originality and relevance of the proposed stay in Taiwan with work plan
- knowledge utilisation
For a bilateral joint seminar:
- quality of the research teams
- scientific relevance of the proposed seminar with work plan
- effects of the seminar on the collaboration between Dutch and Taiwanese researchers, for example
- knowledge utilisation

The applications are assessed by the NWO-wide grants committee.
