In addition to good terms of employment, we also want to offer you a good work and learning environment. As a funder of diverse scientific research, NWO also wants to employee people with a wide range of talents. This diverse workforce is the driving force behind our organisation. We know from research that employing people with a range of different talents increases the quality of our work and our innovative power. Moreover, it enables us and all of our staff to contribute to society
Customised employment conditions
We offer competitive salaries, including a thirteenth month and a holiday allowance. We also have an excellent pension scheme: NWO pays two-thirds of the pension contribution. In addition, NWO offers full reimbursement for travel by public transport in order to encourage sustainable practices. We always indicate the salary level in our vacancy listings. We go over all of NWO’s employment conditions and discuss customised solutions during our employment conditions talk, which we conduct after you have been selected for a position. For example, under certain conditions you will be able to purchase or sell leave, buy a bike or e-bike at an attractive price, or apply for an additional allowance for travel costs. A good start is half the battle.
Training and development
NWO is an ambitious organisation and we need well-trained people to realise our goals. We therefore invest in the personal development of our staff. NWO offers a wide range of training courses and facilitates internal mobility and temporary exchanges with other employers. Employees without a clear career plan are encouraged to pursue personal development with the aid of career guidance or a course of coaching sessions. We strongly believe in providing you with challenging work and career prospects. We meet with you regularly (at least once a year) to talk about the results you have achieved, as well as your personal and job development. We are also potentially flexible about where and when you deliver your work. We also make sure you have a soft landing by means of an induction programme in the department where you will work.
