EUROCORES stands for ‘ESF European Collaborative Research Scheme´, a grant scheme managed by the European Science Foundation (ESF). The ESF has 78 members organisations from 30 different countries: academies, research organisations and research funding agencies, including NWO.
The ESF uses the EUROCORES Scheme to develop and support Europe-wide collaboration and synergy in and across all scientific areas. The Scheme provides a flexible framework for national basic research funding organizations to join forces to support top class European research.
PLEASE NOTE: In the Netherlands only researchers from disciplines served by the
Social Sciences council (MaGW) can apply. Only MaGW has committed itself to
TECT.
Researchers based in universities and research institutions in those
countries whose national research funding agencies are signatories to the
scheme, are eligible to apply for grants. Project applications must involve
collaboration amongst research teams in a minimum of three European
countries.
MaGW applicants need to hold a doctor’s degree and be based in a
Dutch university or research institute acknowledged by the KNAW and/or NWO.
What can be applied for
The funding is limited to either a PhD or a Postdoc research postition and
material costs.
Personnel costs will be granted in accordance with the VSNU
contract regarding research postitions. Funding is limited to a maximum of
K€200.
PhD
You can apply for personnel costs for a PhD student with a maximum of four years 1fte, 5 years 0,8 fte is also possible if applied for in the application.
Postdoc
You can apply for personnel costs for a Postdoc position (NOT the position of the applicant) with a maximum of three years 1fte, more years with less fte is also possible if applied for in the application.
Material costs
Here you can apply for material costs like, for example, data
collection.
Excluded are the costs for:
- Computers, laptops, computertime;
- Accommodation, overhead costs, devaluation;
Please note! It is not allowed to apply with more than 1 Dutch research team or application within one European Collaborative Research Project.
