ERA-NET

Applied Catalysis for Europe network

Key target : Internationalisation
Secretariat : ACTS
Apply : No, a new round is (still) uncertain

Objective

ACENET (www.acenet.net) aims to achieve a more efficient management in European innovation-driven research in the field of catalysis and sustainable chemistry. The ten European countries involved will at first focus on cooperation between research programmes that have comparable themes. The funding organisations also intend to jointly execute existing programmes in order to use this experience eventually to jointly initiate new European programmes and/or calls. In parallel to this the organisations will lay the foundations for a European training and education programme.

NWO’s ACTS, the platform for Advanced Chemical Technologies for Sustainability, coordinates this European network. The other partners are organisations and governments from England, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Poland, Portugal and Spain.

Applied catalysis and sustainable chemistry require and interdisciplinary approach. The results of scientific work in this field contribute to a sustainable development and innovation in chemical and related industries. At present there is little coordination between the research programmes of the various EU countries. Cooperation is to lead to a more efficient use of means and to a more prominent place for the subject on the European research agenda.

The theme of the first ACENET call for proposals is Innovative, Sustainable Catalytic Processes with Improved Energy and Carbon Efficiency. The call encourages private-public partnerships concerning applied catalysis on a European scale.

Application

When can be applied

At this stage it is not possible to submit an application.

There where two phases in the application procedure:

  • Pre-proposals. Deadline: 2 July 2007, noon
  • Full proposals. Deadline: 14 December 2007, noon

Extra Information

Detailed information on the call for proposals and the application procedure can be found on ACENET website (www.acenet.net) under ‘1st Call’.

On www.acenet.net various publications can be downloaded, like brochures, press releases, news articles, interviews and public deliverables of different work packages.

Selection

Procedure

The Programme Committe has evaluated the preproposals. Full proposals will be evaluated by referees. A detailed description of the application and selection procedures can be found on http://www.acenet.net/default.a sp?CID=134.
