More Women Researchers as University Lecturers (MEERVOUD)

Closing date applies to Earth and Life Sciences

Line of action : Opportunities for researchers
Secretariat : ALW
Participants : EW
Apply : No, a new round is (still) uncertain

Objective

In the Netherlands the percentage of women active in the natural sciences is inversely proportional to their position on the academic ladder. The MEERVOUD programme aims to help women postdocs become university lecturers by creating temporary (part-time) lecturer positions (or similar positions in institutes), with the added guarantee of obtaining a (different) scientific position within their research institution.

Application

What can be applied for

The purpose of MEERVOUD is to create temporary assistant professorship positions with the guarantee of a tenured assistant professorship within the university. Both the temporary and permanent position should be at least 0.8 fte. Upon submitting the proposal, the university provides a declaration of intent stating that the candidate will obtain a tenured assistant professorship upon completing the MEERVOUD project. Although the grant schemes of the two divisions are very similar to each other there are some small differences. Further information can be found on the following websites:
