Samenvatting
The goal of this project is to identify the mechanisms underlying the perception of bodily expression of emotion. The research investigates: 1) whether recognition of body expression of emotions is based on two separate processes, one consisting in representing the movement component (motor resonance and action representation) and the other in recognition of the emotion (emotional contagion); 2) what the links are between those two processes and how these links differ with the specific emotion considered. Data will be collected by means of fMRI, physiological measurements (skin conductance and electromyography) and questionnaires about social awareness.
