Summary
In de cryptografie is het essentieel het exacte aantal oplossingen van bepaalde vergelijkingen te weten. Deze aantallen zijn groot: getallen van honderden cijfers. Technieken uit de meetkunde worden met behulp van zeer snelle algoritmen toepasbaar gemaakt op dit probleem.
