3-5 year projects are invited in all thematic areas of the Programme. Project outlines, which are mandatory, must be submitted by 30. Nov. 2011, and full proposals by 18. April 2012. It is expected that 15-20 projects will be funded.

Grant applications from public and private Norwegian research institutions will be accepted. International collaboration is encouraged, including partnerships with research groups and institutions in low- and middle-income countries (LMIC). Research groups from non-LMICs can access limited funding from the Programme as partners on proposals from Norwegian public or private institutions.
