Who can apply

Tenure (track) researchers of Dutch universities and other Dutch knowledge institutes.

Researchers from abroad may apply

What can be applied for

Personnel The proposal may contain a budget request for two kinds of personnel: PhD students (“promovendi”) and postdocs. Personnel costs are based on the VSNU tariffs

Consumables Expenses for consumables can be budgeted to a maximum of 12 k€ (including VAT (“BTW”) per year per researcher.

Equipment The budget for equipment, needed for carrying out the proposed research, has no formal limit. The requested equipment should be essential for and dedicated to the proposed research.

Selection

Criteria

The criteria on which the full-proposals will be judged are:

  • scientific quality;
  • track record of the applicant(s);
  • competence of the research group;
  • timeline of the proposed research;
  • aims/deliverables.

Procedure

The selection and evaluation of research proposals for the PoaC programme is performed in two steps. First, the PoaC Programme Committee makes a selection on the basis of the pre-proposals. Only the authors of the selected pre-proposals are invited to work out their proposals to full-proposals. Full-proposals are sent to at least two internationally renowned experts. Applicants receive the referee reports for rebuttal. The PC ranks the proposals and the Executive Board of ACTS decides on granting the projects.
