CATCH symposium “CATCH to eCATCH” 20 May 2011

The research programme CATCH (Continuous Access to Cultural Heritage) of the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO) is pleased to announce the CATCH symposium on 20 May 2011:

“CATCH to eCATCH”

The symposium will feature four presentations of the CATCH projects: CHORAL, MUSEUM, MUNCH and Witchcraft. The four post-PhD researchers will provide you with their scientific results, lessons learned and future prospective.

We are very pleased to announce the keynote speakers to this conference:
- Dr. Bethany Nowviskie, Director of Digital Research & Scholarship at the University of Virginia Library, and Associate Director of the Scholarly Communication Institute (Web address: http://www.uvasci.org/about-us/bethany-nowviskie/
- Dr. Jon Orwant, Engineering Manager for Google Books, Magazines and Patents and responsible for Google’s Digital Humanities Research Award (Web address: http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2010/07/our-commitment-to-digital-humanities.html)

A quick insight in the results from the large digitization project ‘Early Dutch Books Online’ http://www.dutchprintsonline.nl/en/index.php) will be also presented as to announce the symposium in Leiden on 26 May 2011. The presentation will be done by the University Libraries of Amsterdam and Leiden, and The Royal Library.
