Together with the German BMBF (Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung, Bonn), ALW-ZKO (National Programme Sea and Coastal Research) has set up a transnational funding round for the theme Wadden research. The call focuses on two current Wadden themes, sediment dynamics and biological invasions, for which transnational collaboration has a considerable added value.
The BMBF will act as lead agency via the executive body Projektträger Jülich (PTJ).
The aim of this funding round is to encourage transnational research in the Wadden area.

- Closing date for submitting applications was 28 February 2011

Criteria
Proposals must at least satisfy the following primary requirements:
- Scientific excellence and relevance with regard to the two Wadden themes;
- Collaboration between at least one Dutch and one German knowledge institute;
- Clear added value of transnational collaboration
