NWO Symposium Open Access publishing

On Tuesday afternoon 12 October 2010, NWO organizes a symposium on Open Access publishing. With this event NWO participates in the Dutch Open Access week. In the Netherlands the central theme of this week is ‘The power of Open Access’.NWO promotes scientific research to be published Open Access and stimulates awareness of authors with regard to their position concerning copyright. For main applicants of NWO research there is the NWO Incentive Fund Open Access with which they can publish Open Access for up to € 5000 per research project. And the NWO Humanities Division has organized a call for proposals with regard to starting new Open Access journals. NWO shares the opinion that research results funded by the public should be fully accessible to the public.
For NWO Open Access is the only way forward.
