Objective

The International Collaboration in Chemistry programme aims to realise both the NWO and NSF strategic goals of developing a diverse, globally-engaged, science and engineering workforce. The programme also encourages the development and use of cyber infrastructure to increase the level of synergy of the proposed projects.

Application

Group leaders (assistant, associate or full professors) at a Dutch university or NWO approved research institute can apply.

More information on the terms and conditions for application is found in the call for proposals.

Selection

Criteria

Proposals must be submitted to NSF by the US investigator.

Applications will be assessed on the following criteria:

  1. Scientific quality of the project / Qualification of the applicant;
  2. Working environment / Scientific environment;
  3. Objectives and work programme;
  4. Synergy and value added of the proposed collaboration;
  5. Broader impact (only applicable to US portion of the proposal)

The criteria are specified in the call for proposals. The call can be downloaded from this website.

Procedure

  • Preliminary proposals will be reviewed only for their fit to the NSF and NWO divisions of chemistry criteria to the ICC programme. They will not be reviewed for their scientific merit;
  • The full proposals will be assessed in a peer review procedure by (inter)national reviewers and ranked by a Scientific Committee. The Division Board will jointly decide with the NSF on granting in June/July 2011.
