AHRC - NWO Humanities Research Networking and Exchange Scheme
This joint AHRC-NWO Humanities scheme supports bi-national teams to run a network of researchers or joint exchange programme over two years aiming at developing international partnerships between arts and humanities researchers in the United Kingdom and the Netherlands.
Biobased Sustainable Industrial Chemicals (B-BASIC)
B-BASIC (Bio-based Sustainable Industrial Chemistry) focuses on developing bio-based sustainable process concepts for the chemical industry, using renewable resources.
Centre Européen de Calcul Atomique et Moléculaire
CECAM stimulates the whole field of atomic and molecular calculations, mainly by organising international workshops. The NWO Divisions for Chemical Sciences and Physics participate.
Computing Time National Computing Facilities continuous application
The National Computing Facilities Foundation (NCF) grants subsidies for the use of national computing facilities.
Contested Democracy
The research programme Disputed Democracy concerns the functioning and vulnerability of democracy. The title of the programme Disputed Democracy indicates that democracy is never a specific entity. The programme considers democracy as a model and a practice that is continually in a process of redefining, repositioning, reevaluation, relegitimisation and adaptation.
Cooperation China - Joint Scientific Thematic Research Programme (JSTP) open for application
JSTP aims at stimulating sustainable research collaboration between China and the Netherlands by funding joint research projects and thematic dialogue seminars. The 2009 call for proposals addresses the research topic ‘Integrated Water Management in relation with climate change and sea level rise’.

Cooperation Germany - von Humboldt Stiftung (VHS) continuous application
VHS makes two research prizes available each year to enable Dutch senior researchers to conduct their own research for a period of between 4 and 12 months at a German research institute, while NWO offers the same opportunity for two German senior researchers to conduct their own research in the Netherlands.
Cooperation Hong Kong - Joint Research Scheme (JRS) open for application
The joint research scheme stimulates scientific cooperation between Hong Kong and Dutch researchers working in the fields of Astronomy, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Computer science, by providing individual travel grants and workshop grants.
Cooperation Japan (JSPS) continuous application
NWO has a cooperation agreement with the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS), which provides various opportunities for doing research in Japan.
Cooperation South Korea (NRF-KOSEF) continuous application
NWO has a cooperation agreement with the Korea Science and Engineering Foundation (KOSEF), which offers Dutch researchers a chance to perform research in South Korea. In case of a jointly organised seminar applications can be submitted for a contribution towards the costs.
Cooperation Taiwan (NSC) continuous application
NWO has a cooperation agreement with the National Science Council of Taiwan (NSC), which offers Dutch researchers a chance to do research in Taiwan. Taiwanese researchers can visit the Netherlands. The programme also facilitates joint seminars in Taiwan or the Netherlands.
Cooperation United States - International Collaboration in Chemistry (ICC)
ICC grants offer the opportunity to carry ou high-quality, curiosity-driven research in molecular chemistry, chemistry or chemical technology in an international setting.
Dynamics of Patterns
Researchers from various scientific disciplines focused of studying and analysing intrinsically non-linear patterns in space and time are brought together in an interdisciplinary setting.
East Kalimantan
Aims to enhance and support long-term scientific cooperation in coastal zone research between research groups from Indonesia and the Netherlands. The geographical focus is on the coastal areas of the Mahakam delta and the Berau region.
ERA-NET
ERA-NET (European Research Area Networks) is the policy instrument of the European Commission (EC) for coordinating the national research programmes in Europe. In an ERA-NET there is cooperation and coordination among European research funding agencies.

The NWO Division for Earth and Life Sciences pays an annual contribution in order to give researchers the opportunity to conduct drillings into the ocean floor with drilling vessels and make accompanying measurements.
Internationalisation in the Humanities open for application
The Humanities Division Board intends to use this grant instrument to promote international cooperation between Dutch research groups and their foreign colleagues, to stimulate the formation of international networks in the humanities and to encourage the submission of humanities grant applications at international institutions.
James Clerk Maxwell Telescope and Isaac Newton Group of Telescopes
The board of the Division for Physical Sciences (GBE), together with some organisations from other countries, participates in the Isaac Newton Group of Telescopes (ING) and the James Clerk Maxwell Telescope (JCMT). The programme committee of the GBE (GBE PC) allocates the time available for the Netherlands at these telescopes. Applications for observing time can be submitted every half year.
Joint Taiwan Netherlands Program on Catalysis
This programme with the National Science Council of Taiwan (NSC) has the purpose to stimulate excellent scientific research on catalysis by fostering collaborations between research-groups who can mutually profit from each other’s expertise.
