New INDIGO: Networking Pilot Programme on Water Related Research

Objective

The aim of New INDIGO is to strengthen research collaboration between Indian and European researchers. This is done, for example, by making network instruments for Euro-Indian S&T collaboration available.

One approach for realising this aim is the Networking Pilot Programme, focussed on: a) identifying and supporting excellent research groups working on joint projects and b) the setting up of a model for more extensive Euro-Indian collaboration programmes in the future.

Proposals with the following subjects can be awarded funding:

  • a) Wastewater management incl. applications to industry and agriculture
  • b) Green Chemistry applied to water purification incl. drinking water purification

Application

Who can apply

Proposals can be submitted by researchers employed by universities, universities of applied sciences (polytechnic universities) or non-academic research institutes. SMEs and industrial partners are not eligible for subsidies. Relevant national rules shall be used to determine whether the project partners are eligible for funding. Partners from countries not participating in the NPP Call may participate in the project but will be responsible for their own funding.

Researchers from abroad may apply

What can be applied for

  • Costs for mobility and workshops;
  • Costs for the purchase of equipment or consumables to a limited extent.

When can be applied

  • Closing date for submitting pre-proposals was 20 June 2011, 12:00 uur CET

Extra Information

Research groups that want to be eligible for funding of the internationalisation of their research must consist of at least 3 admissible partners: 2 from different European countries and 1 from India.

Projects have a maximum duration of 2 years.

Procedure

Grants will be awarded in competition. All proposals will be evaluated by international referees and by an Indian evaluation committee.

Committees

The proposals will be ranked for scientific quality by a yet to be appointed Scientific Council. The final funding decision will be taken by a Programme Funding Committee.

Budget

A maximum amount of 50,000 euros per project/per country is available. It is expected that 10 to 15 projects will be awarded funding.
