Integrated Progammes Call 2010
15 December 2009
A new call for Integrated Programmes is now open for applications. The deadline for submission is 6 April 2010, 12.00 hrs. Applicants are invited to submit proposals fitting into one or more of the WOTRO-themes - poverty and hunger, sustainable environment and global relationships - , or proposals that touch upon topics beyond the MDG related thematic framework.
Aim
The Integrated Programme (IP) scheme aims to support excellent research to the benefit of development and societal issues of local and global concern. Researchers are challenged to identify original research opportunities for these societal issues and to combine innovative scientific research with a clear exposition of its future relevance and impact on development practice and policy. The research should lead to new insights, applications, theories or breakthroughs in current knowledge or understanding while addressing developmental issues in a broad sense. Recognising the complexity of the problems to be tackled, WOTRO is particularly keen to support programmes that interweave and integrate traditionally distinct disciplinary perspectives.
Criteria
All awarded integrated programmes meet a fixed set of criteria:
- Scientific Quality;
- Relevance for Development; and
- Quality of Collaboration.
