15 september 2005
The British Embassy, the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO) and the Netherlands Organisation for Health Research and Development (ZonMw) are pleased to invite you to the
UK- Netherlands Meeting on Brain Science, Addiction and Drugs
Thursday September 15
Den Haag
'Drugs Futures 2025' is the latest report by Foresight, the UK Government's science-based think tank. This report, the most important outcome so far of the Foresight project Brain Science, Addiction and Drugs (BSAD), provides independent evidence through 'horizon-scanning' of what future scientific advancements may uncover in the next 20 years. In particular, the report suggests that the greatest changes society will witness in the near future will be in our understanding of the brain, how it functions and performs, its capacity and limitations and how it affects our behavior.
At the meeting, six BSAD state of science review authors will present the Brain Science, Addiction and Drugs project, the Foresight methodology and the key messages coming out of the project. There will also be a presentation about the NWO/ZonMW Addiction Programme and its expected continuation.
