Dutch mini laboratories have arrived safely on Antarctica

On Monday 2 April, three Dutch mini laboratories safely reached their destination, the British base Rothera. Together with a fourth mini laboratory they will form the Gerritsz laboratory. This is the first Dutch laboratory on Antarctica. In polar research NWO collaborates with the British Antarctic Survey (BAS).

Dutch laboratories depart for Antarctica

This year the Netherlands will have its own laboratories on Antarctica for the first time. Three of the four laboratories started their journey to Antarctica on Monday 16 January. State Secretary for Education, Culture and Science, Halbe Zijlstra, together with NWO chair, Jos Engelen, sealed the laboratories for transport and announced their names.
