The 3th (closed) PoaC Symposium was held on 30 and 31 March 2009 in Lunteren. All PoaC members were cordially invited to attend this Symposium.
The conference is an excellent opportunity to meet all the people involved in the programme and to get informed on the research performed by all PoaC projects.

Notebook computers, portable medical systems and airbag sensors are examples of the enormous impact of miniaturisation on today’s society. The incredible power of miniaturisation is not limited to electronics. Chemical synthesis performed on a chip will allow for faster and more selective reactions, thereby reducing waste and eliminating expensive separation steps. Industrial scaling up might become relatively easy by placing thousands of these chips in parallel. Eventually these portable modular factories with capacities scalable from milligrams to tons will replace today’s large-scale industrial plants. The PoaC research program was initiated to take miniaturization research in the Netherlands a step further.

The PoaC Kick Off Symposium was held on October 22nd 2004 in the Mercure Hotel Utrecht-Bunnik. A program of the symposium is available for download. Next to invited lectures from prof. Takehiko Kitamori (Tokyo University) and prof. Sabeth Verpoorte (Groningen University) an overview was given on the PoaC program and the participating companies. Current research projects were discussed as well.

Interested parties may obtain presentations of the symposium.
