WOTRO organisation

Governance
WOTRO is a division within the NWO organisation. The WOTRO Board is ultimately responsible for strategy and policy. Members are appointed by the NWO Governing Board.

The Board is advised by a Policy Advisory Committee and, for specific activities, Advisory Committees. For the day-to-day management of the WOTRO activities the Board is supported by a professional office.

Funding
WOTRO is core-funded by NWO and receives substantial additional funding for its activities from the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs. For the current strategy period (2007-2010) the core budget amounts to a minimum of 37 million Euro. For specific activities and programmes WOTRO manages additional funds from external partners, including the policy directorates Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
