Objective

The Urban Innovation Programme (Dutch abbreviation: STIP) aims to greatly advance the problem-solving capacities of cities through innovation of current modes of thought, institutions and competences. STIP seeks answers and effective solutions. To do this it is not only important to know what works but also why it works.

STIP addresses urban problems and issues and the role played in them by the government. The programme wants to increase and improve the production and dissemination of knowledge about urban issues, improve the practical implementation in policies of scientifically attained insights, and create networks between scientists and the workers on the ground. Discussing how to tackle urban problems and to generate new methods and lines of approach is part of this.
