Objective
Within the theme System Earth, the NWO Division for Earth and Life Sciences (ALW) and the Netherlands Foundation for the Advancement of Tropical Research (WOTRO) together launched a research programme for fundamental research regarding fresh water. In addition, the Ministry of VROM has allocated funds for fundamental research on climate change and its relation with society.
Application
When can be applied
The deadline for submission of proposals for the first call was 1 June 2004. This research programme takes place in the years 2004-2010.
Extra Information
For support of scientists from developing countries WOTRO-instruments apply, e.g. fellowships (see www.nwo.nl/wotro).
Computing time on the national supercomputer should be applied for separately at NWO-NCF (continuously open for submission).

Budget
The total budget for this programme amounts to 5 million euro.
