Objective

This historical programme intends to safeguard the archives of the former Dutch East India Company (VOC, 1602-1795) as the mutual heritage of three continents. To this end it is crucial to improve the archives´ accessability for scientists and the general public with the aid of information technology. TANAP offers a M.A. and a Ph.D. programme to train and enable young promising (Asian, African and European) scholars to do research in VOC archives.

Application

Extra Information

The programme is co-ordinated by WOTRO and the NWO research council for the Humanities, together with the National Archives of the Netherlands (Nationaal Archief, see www.tanap.net) at the Hague and the Research School CNWS of Leiden University.
