Progress
The Stimulation Programme System-oriented Ecotoxicological Research was launched on 30 March 1999. A total of thirteen research programmes have been approved in the 2000 and 2001 application rounds. All research programmes are finished.
Research focuses on three study
locations in the Netherlands:
- Afferdensche and
Deestsche Waarden,
- Biesbosch and
- Ronde Venen.
The Programme Committees and the Steering Committee visited the study locations in the spring of 2002. The morning was spent on (guest) lectures, followed by an afternoon field trip. Interesting discussions arose between researchers and the members of the two committees. In the field, the researchers enthusiastically explained the methods and locations of their studies. The 2002 site visits can be considered very successful.
In 2006 a final symposium was held during the international SETAC congres.
In 2007 the program was officially ended by presenting three reports to Hans Hoogeveen, Director-general from the minister of Agriculture, Nature and Food quality (LNV).
