ALW Policy Advisory Committee (Beleidsadviescommissie = BAC)

The ALW board set up a new Policy Advisory Committee (Beleidsadviescommissie = BAC) in 2002 covering all its disciplines. The Committee has 32 members, including a core group of ten members.

The Committee will cooperate closely with the ALW Board especially in advising the Board on an ad hoc basis on ALW's position concerning various developments in different scientific disciplines.

An ad hoc small core group of experts in a particular topic will be formed out of BAC members to advise on questions depending on that research topic. Such ad hoc core groups will be headed by one of the members of the regular core group. The Chairman of the Policy Advisory Committee is Professor Dr M.J.R. Wortel (UU) and its vice chairman is Professor Dr J.G. Kuenen (TUD). drs. D.A. van der Kroef of the ALW Office is the Committee's secretary.
