About the Division N

The Physics Division of NWO aims at high quality physics research at Dutch universities and research institutes. 

The Physics Division (N) was founded 1 September 2003 as a means of enhancing cooperation between NWO and the Foundation for Fundamental Research on Matter (FOM).

The Division N conducts the NWO-general individual subsidies for physics scientists, such as the Innovational Research Incentives Scheme.

For all other physics research the Division N subsidises the FOM foundation. FOM offers several types of subsidies to Dutch researchers on all fields of physical science.
