NWO seeks strong alliances worldwide

Science is a champions league. For this reason, NWO facilitates knowledge exchange and mobility, and is active in numerous international networks and programmes. Holding the lead requires working together and searching out the competition. For assessing research projects, NWO consults renowned peer reviewers in the whole world. Together, they form the best safeguard for the highest possible standards.

NWO mediates for the use of research facilities elsewhere in the world and finances large scale facilities in the Netherlands. Researchers from the Netherlands and abroad may apply for a wide range of (international) subsidies. NWO subsidies are held in high esteem. They are considered to be quality enhancing and fulfill an important role in the careers of researchers.

More info about opportunities for researchers? Go to the Subsidy Guide. For info about collaboration with other countries, see International Cooperation. The NWO Divisions for Sciences have also grouped specific information about their own policy and instruments under Internationalisation in the site sections of the Divisions for Sciences.
