NWO Division for Social Sciences

The NWO Division for Social Sciences funds research in the social sciences via the ‘second flow of funds’ (research funding provided by the government for allocation by intermediary organisations such as NWO). It allocates this funding by organising competitions for research proposals. In addition, it mediates in the formulation of research programmes dealing with socially relevant themes, administers those programmes, and promotes the availability of optimum research facilities.
