Integrated Programmes
Announcement: Suspension Integrated Programmes
Due to shifting policy priorities in the Netherlands, the WOTRO budget for research funding has only partly materialized. As a consequence, WOTRO has to substantially reduce its subsidy activities and for that reason, WOTRO has unfortunately decided to discontinue the Integrated Programmes scheme for the time being. The current call for proposals and awarded programmes will be continued, but there will be no new call for proposals.
For alternative funding options, please refer to the NWO Subsidy Guide. Relevant funding opportunities will also be announced in the WOTRO newsfl@sh.
We ask for your understanding.
Programme information
WOTRO offers grants for medium-sized research programmes (max. € 700,000), integrated sets of projects conducted by PhD or postdoc researchers from the Netherlands and developing countries. Research programmes should be aimed at either development issues in a broad sense or at UN Millennium Development Goals. An interdisciplinary approach is favoured. Research plans are developed in international workshops with potential end-users and other stakeholders.
An IP may address developmental and societal issues:
- in a broad sense, touching upon topics or problem areas that are not covered under the Millennium Development Goals, in which WOTRO especially seeks proposals that go beyond mainstream discourse and practice of development and research for development.
or
- fitting into one or more of three themes of WOTRO’s thematic framework, inspired by international agendas, notably the UN Millennium Development Goals (see Annex I): (A) Poverty and Hunger; (B) Sustainable Environment; (C) Global Relationships.
Proposals in either category are equally welcome and will compete for the same funding possibilities.
