Objective
The NWO Division for Chemical Sciences and the FOM Institute for Plasma Physics participate in an international EUROCORES research programme in Self-Organised Nano-Structures. This is supervised by the European Science Foundation (ESF).

Application

Who can apply

Researchers connected to the following organisations: Dutch universities, NWO-institutes, FOM, Royal Netherlands Academy and Netherlands Cancer Institute.

What can be applied for

Applications can be made for projects to be carried out by trainee researchers or postdoctorals. Available for them is a personal bench fee for work-related travel (including congress attendance) and other things; for postdoctorals the bench fee is also a contribution to the costs of their PhD thesis (2,269 euro for a one-year appointment, 4,538 euro for an appointment of two years or more).
In addition will be refunded project-specific apparatus costs, material credit and additional travel expenses.

When can be applied

No applications can be submitted at the moment; for the time being the programme is full. It continues through to 2007.

Extra Information

Postdoctorals are appointed for a period of three years maximum. It is not allowed to apply for an apparatus subsidy only. Not subsidised are the costs of infrastructural facilities and apparatus etc. that are regarded as regular facilities. The total application should not exceed one staff appointment; apart from the bench fee a maximum of 30,000 euro is available for material costs.

Budget

The budget for Dutch applications within this transnational programme amounts to 2 million euro.
